12ft Race Boards

THE SKORPION

Previously to 2014 our 12ft boards were an extension of the SLS paddleboard. This was Ok but we knew we could do better but there was no real incentive. We did have results in 2005 with Tim Foran winning the Stock Class at Molokai.

2014 marked a time of major development for Kracka in 12ft Class of prone paddling. We were approached by Mike Porra to design a race winning board for him and his son Braden for the team category at Molokai. This was perfect timing as our production was out of season and had time and enthusiasm was high. Also there was a long distance race for 12ft at the World SLSA championships in France which made all this worthwhile.

After quite a few test boards we ended up with a smoker. The Porra’s won the Molokai by 9 mins and Stu McLachlan won the World title SLSA event by the similar margin.

These boards have been named “The Skorpion” as we feel it delivers a sting.

Construction:

Single Skin full Carbon fibre Laminate. Well area has a extra layer of Carbon for necessary strength.

Fin box front ( drink container mount ), Air Valve, Full well area EVA pad, leg rope plug.
